Before you begin your non-competitive application

STOP! Is your project a Tier 1? Before you begin your non-competitive application, please confirm that your proposed project falls under Tier 1.  Tier 1 projects meet the following criteria:

Tier 1 projects are intended to explore and/or measure an EJ issue to better understand its impact on a community of focus, and/or to inform a future invention.

They can inform the initial stage of a project through assessing environmental and public health concerns.

Examples include:

  • Research
  • Sampling
  • Testing
  • Monitoring
  • Investigations
  • Surveys and studies

Tier 1 does not include implementation of programs or interventions.

If your project is not Tier 1, it is ineligible and will not be considered for a non-competitive award.  Please apply using the competitive application for all other projects to ensure that you have the opportunity to be considered for funding.

South Dakota

Utah

Wyoming
